According to the Academic Regulations of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Part VII, Section 1.0, Sub-section 1.4), students with an attendance of less than 80% (A) can be barred from sitting for the final examination (B). Students can be given zero marks. This failure will result in the student failing for the FYP course. Please take this rule seriously.

(A) Attendance in the context of FYP is the frequency of meeting with the supervisor and fully performing all tasks set by the supervisor.
(B) The final exam for FYP is a presentation in an FYP seminar.

FYP presentation will be held on
3 - 4 FEBRUARY 2025

If there is an overlap of schedules between the presentation and final exam, please contact your supervisor and your FYP panel coordinator. We will try to solve the problem.

Please always update with your FYP coordinator. Schedules are subject to change without prior notice.

All FYP students are required to present the results of their studies in the FYP seminar sessions.

If students have problems, please contact your supervisors.

After students present their findings, the assessor will ask some questions and students need to answer technically. Please note the reprimands and improvements provided by the panel of evaluators. Please also discuss with your supervisor for the correction of your thesis draft.

UGP presentation will give 20% of your overall FYP score. presentation scoring will focus on subject knowledge, depth of study, presentation content, result & analysis, quality of slides, voice & eye contact, attire and response to questions.

The FYP Seminar, which will take place on July 8–9, 2024, is open to all undergraduate students, particularly those who intend on enrolling in FYP 1 (SEMM 4912) the following semester. Students can gain knowledge about the different kinds of research that FKM does through this exposure. It is planned that students would be able to locate the ideal supervisor and study subjects that align with their interests.

Students are expected to adhere to the UTM dress code and dress neatly in order to show respect for the FYP seminar session. Wearing slippers is not permitted at all.
