TO NEW FYP STUDENTS
Congratulations! You were successful in passing the final examination. It is now time to get started Industrial Training. After that, it is necessary to complete the Final Year Project (FYP) or Projek Sarjana Muda (PSM) course.
The Final Year Project (FYP) is a unique course that requires students to effectively complete a project that their supervisor has assigned. It is important that you allocate sufficient time for your study and take the initiative to schedule meetings with your supervisor.
Unlike in other courses, students have the freedom to choose a supervisor and project title that align with their preferences. During their Industrial Training, students should be able to locate and communicate with their supervisor. This is due to the fact that if you start your search for a supervisor after the completion of the Industrial Training or after the beginning of the 1st semester (October 6, 2024), you will be considered overdue. It's possible that the supervisor you're interested in is currently working with another student, or that another student has already taken the title you're interested in.
Students can also browse MECHYPEDIA to find out research and work done by lecturers at the School of Mechanical Engineering, UTM. A search can be made using the name of the lecturer involved. Students can also use keywords related to the field of study that students are interested in to start the search.

For students who want to take the FYP title from another panel, please contact the FYP coordinator of that panel and discuss this matter. For cross-panel supervision, students need to discuss directly with the selected supervisor.
